International meeting of young obesity researchers in Leipzig (LIMIOR) strengthens scientific exchange

Shortly after the first "Leipzig International Meeting for Interdisziplinary Obesity Research" (LIMIOR) on causes and consequences of morbid overweight the conclusions drawn are positive.

For the first time international researchers have met from September 6th to10th in Leipzig for the "Leipzig International Meeting for Interdisciplinary Obesity Research" (LIMIOR). They discussed interdisciplinarily the manifold causes and therapy approaches of obesity.

IFB AdiposityDiseases expands international cooperations

As of August 2015 the IFB AdiposityDiseases has been accredited by the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO) and has become part of the network of leading adiposity centres in Europe (EASO-COM).

The Integrated Research and Treatment Center (IFB) AdiposityDiseases in Leipzig receives further funding of 24 million Euros until 2020

The Center of the University Hospital and Medical Faculty Leipzig receives funding for another five-year period from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Its continued existence until 2020 strengthens the Leipzig research focus on civilization and metabolic diseases.
