Successful: 1. Leipzig International Meeting for Interdisciplinary Obesity Research - LIMIOR
For the first time international researchers have met from September 6th to10th in Leipzig for the "Leipzig International Meeting for Interdisciplinary Obesity Research" (LIMIOR). They discussed interdisciplinarily the manifold causes and therapy approaches of obesity.

The international meeting LIMIOR is in full swing. About 40 international scientists from different fields shed light on the topic from different perspectives. They discuss the interplay of the human brain, environmental, psychological, as well as societal factors and obesity.
The meeting tries to connect neurocognitive, psychological and socio-scientific approaches; it enables and furthers the international exchange of researchers.

Dr. Annette Horstmann and Dr. Claudia Luck-Sikorski, both heads of junior research groups at the IFB AdiposityDiseases, organized the LIMIOR meeting - the first one of its kind. Since September 6th the focus has been on information and discussion. On September 8th a visit of the IFB study center was part of the program.
Among the speakers are also internationally known obesity-experts like Prof. Thorkild Sørensen from Denmark. The first half of the meeting has been filled with lively and inspired exchange. Thus, the participants have started with motivation the second part of the successful event.
